Speaker: Dominic Gaspary
Since summer 2017, Dominic has been a Product Owner at Volkswagen AG and is responsible for the project We Commerce. He previously spent 3.5 years as Head of Business Development at personal shopping start-up OUTFITTERY. He is also a co-founder of watch brand Mount Parker. Dominic has a Bachelor’s degree from Zeppelin University and a Master’s in Management from the ESCP Europe. As well as experience in private equity and investment banking, his professional focus lies on marketing and developing sales channels. In 2017, Dominic and his colleagues established a partnership with IBM, and since then, they have been working together to develop digital mobility services and bringing them to the market. “We Commerce” is the first joint development within the new digital ecosystem, “Volkswagen WE”. This is an integrated service that proactively makes recommendations and offers to customers at the right time and in the right place. Using artificial intelligence from IBM Watson, personalized and context-related offers can be displayed based on available car, driver and environmental data. On the other side, We Commerce opens up a completely new channel of customer contact to its B2B partners. Dominic is responsible for the strategy and implementation of the platform in the Volkswagen We ecosystem. Together with Alexander Ruhland from IBM, he will be presenting the project and the new opportunities it presents at the d3con Innovation Track.
