Raised in Hamburg, Julia studied molecular biotechnology at the University of Lübeck and business administration at the University of Münster, specializing in marketing and finance. She began her professional career in 2009 as a management consultant at OC&C Strategy Consultants. From 2010 on Julia worked in various positions at Axel Springer: As a project manager she co-founded the lifestyle platform Stylebook.de and managed the development and implementation of BILDplus, the cross-platform subscription model for digital journalistic content at BILD. After supporting the board as chief of staff, she became COO of the BILD Group in 2017, responsible for finance, strategy and the management of brand communication. Since 2019, Julia is heading the operational management of Media Impact and is responsible for people& culture and strategy. Since its founding in 2020, Julia is also been responsible for Axel Springer All Media (ASAM) as COO. All of Axel Springer's advertising market-related business units are bundled under the holding ASAM. Furthermore Julia is member of the management board of GIK, Gesellschaft für integrierte Kommunikationsforschung.
