Kathrin Franssen started as Chief Media Officer at OMD Germany in October 2024. In the newly created position at the agency, which is part of the Omnicom Media Group, the Hamburg native is responsible for cross-platform media planning.
Her area of activity includes the development and integration of innovative market-shaping solutions in the fields of digital, TV, total video, performance marketing, retail media, cookieless and measurement.
Kathrin Franssen comes from TikTok, where she was the first woman in the Executive Leadership Team of TikTok GBS DACH & the Netherlands. As Head of Agency, she helped build up the platform business for almost four years. Her team's portfolio included the media, creative, social and performance agencies.
As a marketing expert, Kathrin Franssen represented TikTok at various industry events, including OMR, dmexco, d3con, Cannes Lions and ADC.
Kathrin started her career as an online editor at the newsdesk of a Bertelsmann content agency and went through various stations from PR to digital marketing, e-commerce, marketing and license sales at Shutterstock. She is an advisory board member at the social agency Intermate.
Kathrin is passionate about promoting diversity in her professional environment.
